Bandipora’s hospitalised Covid-19 patients down by 50% in a week

Bandipora, June 1: The number of hospitalised Covid-19 positive patients has cut in a week in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, while the active tally on Tuesday stopped at 850.

As per the data gathered by Greater Kashmir, on May 25, there were around 112 patients admitted in three designated Covid-19 facilities in Bandipora with 14 among them admitted in tertiary care hospitals and 30 on oxygen support.

   

Showing a gradual decline, a week later, on June 1, the data reveals that there are 53 Covid-19 positive patients admitted in the hospitals across the district and 19 among them are on oxygen support and two are admitted at tertiary care hospitals.

However, with the active Covid-19 tally still being on the higher side, the home isolated cases since May 25 has only shown a marginal decline, indicating a larger population being asymptomatic with 860 cases being under home isolation on the date.

On June 1, the home isolated patients were marginally down with 797 cases isolated in homes on Tuesday.

With hospitalised patients cutting to half, seven deaths have occurred in a week with one Covid-19 positive patient expiring per day on an average.

The district has a total of 92 Covid-19 related deaths, 30 of these since February 15 this year.

A total of 3792 have tested positive since February this year among the total 8489.

Among these 7547 total recoveries have occurred, 2897 from February 15 this year, the period considered the start of the second COVID wave.

On Tuesday, 52 tested Covid-19 positive and on the previous day there was a sharp decline with only 34 people testing positive for the virus.

According to officials, the positivity rate has come down to 4 percent after shooting up to 19 percent last month.

Moreover, 94,425 eligible people of the 45 and above years age group have been vaccinated, 6258 among them in the last week.
