Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security and civil arrangements for the celebration of the forthcoming Republic Day here.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that the venue of the main function of the Republic Day would be decided on Friday after a visit by the divisional commissioner and other officers to Bakhshi Stadium where the availability of facilities, seating capacity, and ground position would be inspected.
Meanwhile, Pole passed directions to the concerned officers for smooth conduct of the event. He stressed close synergy among the concerned departments while making arrangements.
The divisional commissioner directed officers of the line departments to play a comprehensive and active role with full responsibilities for the celebration of Republic Day.
He directed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar to install hoardings to publicise the developmental achievement by various government departments during the current year.
