Is Anybody Listening? | Macadamize roads in Padshahi Bagh

We, residents of Noorani Colony-B, Kursoo Padshahi Bagh, face immense difficulties because of dilapidated roads in the area, especially the interior roads from Mehjoor Nagar to Padshahi Bagh. Most of the roads in the city were macadamized during the summer, but unfortunately, the road from Ram Baghbridge to Lasjan via Padshai

Bagh has been neglected by the authorities. The ERA has undertaken a drainage project in the area, and the concerned contractor has failed to maintain the interior roads as most of the drainage work is completed. The drainage project has become a nuisance for us as the concerned contractor has left most of the lanes unattended after installing the drainage pipes. The people in the locality are unable to move during inclement weather as the road becomes unmotorable and potholes get filled with water, which remains there for weeks. There is only one link road which connects us with the main road near Hotel Vonposh which has so many potholes, and it is quite difficult for children, women and senior citizens to use it for commuting. We now appeal the CEO ERA and local authorities to intervene in the matter for early redressal of our grievances.

Chalpora residents demand macadamization of road

We, the inhabitants of Chalpora, Handwara, Kupwara, would like to bring to the notice of concerned authorities the condition of the road from

Wadipora to Chalpora which connects many villages like Chalpora, Dudipora, Check, Bakiakar, Tawheedabad etc. The said road is in shambles and is dotted with potholes. We have been requesting the authorities to repair the road for the last five years but all in vain. Even though the authorities carried out some patchwork on the road a few months ago, but it had added to the woes of the residents because the road becomes slippery during the winter season. We now appeal the Hon’ble LG to take notice of our plight and initiate the macadamization of the road as soon as possible.

Commerce students aghast over the eligibility criteria for Panchayat Account Assistant posts

We, the commerce students, would like to bring into the notice of higher authorities our plight. Recently the JKSSB had advertised panchayat account assistant posts which were meant for commerce background students, but science students manipulated and made JKSSB change the eligibility criteria in their favour. Now another post, i.e. finance account assistant is out and again science stream students are made eligible and adding to our misery they changed the syllabus in favour of science and mathematics students. This discrimination against arts and commerce students. Commerce students are not even eligible for posts like beehive keeping; they have set the eligibility 10+2 with science. We request the concerned authorities to look into the matter at the earliest.

They park their vehicles on the main roads, and it creates a lot of problems for the commuter, especially the emergency vehicles (ambulance)and students who do not reach their institutions on time. We request the concerned Deputy Commissioner to look into the matter immediately and provide parking facilities to the employees.
