PDC to take up Wurpash-Upper Wayil road upgradation work

Ganderbal, June 15: The authorities have finally woke up to the repair and upgradation work of ChaparGund-Wurpash road link connecting several villages with the main national highway here in Ganderbal district.

Greater Kashmir few days back had carried a story about the pathetic condition of the road. Locals had sought the LG administration notice for its repair.

   

Confirming it the Executive Engineer PDC Shabir Ahmed told Greater Kashmir that the department has approved the road work, adding that the work will start this season only. He said that a meeting in this regard was held on Saturday after which the road was approved.

The residents of Wurpash, Upper Wayil, Gutlibagh and adjoining localities in Ganderbal had appealed the authorities to repair the main Chapargund-Upper Wayil link road connecting the Srinagar-Leh highway. The road was in shambles with potholes causing inconvenience to the commuters.
