Police facilitate meeting in Sopore

Srinagar: As a part of public outreach programme, a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was facilitated by Police at Police Station Bomai. The meeting was held while following social distancing norms and other COVID protocols.

A police spokesman said the meeting was chaired by SDPO Sopore Furkan Qadir-JKPS accompanied by SHO Police Station Bomai and other officers. The meeting was attended by large number of citizens and representatives of Auqaf committee, Traders Association of Bomai, Tujjar, Goripora, Zaloora and other adjoining areas.

   

During meeting, the participants raised various issues pertaining to Police and civil authorities including menace of drugs, social crimes and other several issues. Issues pertaining to police were resolved on the spot by the chairing officer. The chairing officer assured the participants that their other genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with concerned authorities for their early redressal.

The participants were also briefed about the apprehensions of spread of COVID-19 and were requested to spread awareness among masses to follow COVID appropriate behaviour.

The participants were also made aware about the exploitation of young boys for anti-national activities over social media and advised them about the necessity to keep a check on online behaviour of kids/youth, the police spokesman said.
