NC will work for development of Srinagar if voted to power: Farooq Abdullah

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Friday said development of Srinagar city will be priority of his party if it is voted to power in the next state elections.

“I will take up the issues at appropriate forums and we willaddress them once in power. The NC-led government with Omar Abdullah in thevanguard of it will on priority basis invest in development of Srinagar city,”Abdullah said.

   

Abdullah, who was party candidate for Srinagar parliamentaryseat that went to polls on last month, urged the administration to ensure allfacilities to devotees, at all prominent shrines of Srinagar in the upcomingmonth of Ramadhaan.

Earlier, Abdullah offered congregational Friday prayers atAsaar-e-Sharief Dargah Hazratbal and prayed for peace and prosperity to Jammuand Kashmir. He asked people to pray for peace and prosperity of the state.

Later he interacted with devotees at the shrine who apprisedhim about the apathy on part of the administration towards the city, said aparty statement.

The people apprised the NC president about problems whichthey are facing in the wake of restrictions on civilian traffic on theSrinagar-Jammu national highway, the statement said. “People apprised the party president about thesorry state of roads, by lanes, alleys and other main arterials of the Srinagarcity in particular the Shahar-e- Khaas areas,” said the statement.
