Srinagar Admin imposes fine of Rs 2.20 lakh on Covid-19 protocol violators

Srinagar, June 4: Acting upon the instructions of Chairman District Disaster Management Authority/ Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Muhammed Aijaz Asad a massive drive was launched by district administration across Srinagar against persons violating Covid-19 related SOPs and guidelines. As per a statement, the drive was launched by District Police Srinagar and other officials authorised by chairman DDMA at various public places across the district against the lockdown violators for not wearing masks and holding social gathering by exceeding limit set by the Government.The drive was held at vulnerable spots where public gatherings are always expected including business establishments, shops, passenger transport, restaurants, wedding parties during which an amount of Rs 2.20 lakh were realized as fine.Meanwhile, Chairman DDMA has directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the public in general adheres to all SOPs, especially use of face masks, maintaining social distancing, besides other guidelines envisaged to curb Covid-19 pandemic spread. He has also appealed to people of the district to ensure strict adherence to the Covid-19 Appropriate Behavior to protect themselves, their family and citizens of Srinagar from Covid-19 .
