Srinagar: An aged woman was killed allegedly by her non-local domestic help at Lal Bazar area here on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mala Puffi (85), wife of late Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh of Behrar Lal Bazar.
Police said that preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was attacked with knife by her non-local domestic helper who hails from Uttarakhand.
She was rushed to hospital but was declared dead. Police said the accused decamped with some cash and jewelry from the house. Police immediately launched manhunt to nab the accused.
“The accused has been arrested on way to Jammu. We will disclose all details of the case on Friday,” a police officer said.
