Bai Nambal residents seek change in CD block jurisdiction, redressal of other grievances

People living in far flung Bai Nambal panchayat of Rajouri’sKhawas Zone have urged government to change the jurisdiction of their communitydevelopment (CD) block from existing Khawas to Budhal block.

The villagers said that they have made several appeals togovernment to get the jurisdiction of their CD block changed but all their requestsfell on “deaf ears” till date.

   

According to the Sarpanch of the area, Mohammad Iqbal, thereare 350 families comprising of around 2600 souls in the Panchayat spread overBai Numbal and Chakli Gandyog villages. 

Listing out the problems being faced by the villagers, hesaid that construction of the Panchayat Ghar in the area was taken up in theyear 2012 but it has not completed yet.

“Hardly twenty to thirty households of the area have accessto water supply from various water supply schemes of Public Health EngineeringDepartment while rest of the families still rely on the natural sources of thewater ,” he said.

About condition of roads in the panchayat, he said that workon PMGSY road from Dharmsal Badhal to Bhai Numbal began in 2012 but aftercompletion of earth work and mettaling upto 2 kilometers area, it wasstopped.   

“We appeal the state government and district administrationin particular to constitute a special team for close examination of developmentalprojects of the area to ensure expeditious completion of all projects,” theSarpanch of the area said.
