The residents of remote Kewal Tran area of Budhal in Rajouri district have urged the administration to address their hardships caused by recent heavy snowfall, especially power and water shortage.
“Most of us have kacha houses and roofs leak. Often we have to spend sleepless nights,” said Mohammad Rafiq, a village elder.
Sarpanch Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi said power infrastructure has developed problems and the village has been without electricity for the past two days.
“Natural water sources have frozen and PHE water supply scheme is of no use. We have no option but to melt snow,” he said.
