DG IMPARD chairs valedictory function of training courses

Srinagar: Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD) Saurabh Bhagat Thursday presided over the joint valedictory function of two three-day training courses at Srinagar.

The short-duration training courses ‘Sustainable Development Goals and Gram Panchayats’ and ‘Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)’ were conducted by the Rural Development Wing of J&K IMPAR

The participants from various departments including Horticulture, Agriculture, Sericulture, and Rural Development attended these courses.

Addressing the function, Bhagat said that local people, through efficient community mobilisation, participate and share inputs with government functionaries that enable the government to remain informed about the conditions prevailing on the ground.

He said that this eventually helps the government to execute development programmes effectively at the micro-level.

Bhagat said that the governments of various countries including that of India were expected to frame agendas for development while keeping in view the local conditions so that the goals set for development were sustainable and practical as well.
