Higher reaches of Pir Panchal get season’s first snowfall

Some parts in the higher reaches of Pir Panchal region received the season’s first snowfall on Tuesday, while the plains were lashed with intermittent rain.

According to reports, higher reaches of Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi district received the season’s maiden snowfall, with parts of Budhal, including Samatsar, receiving snow up to one foot. Thai Marag, Kousarnag, Wanhang, Mangnar and Lapri Top also recorded snowfall.

   

Meanwhile, the administration issued an advisory asking people not to travel on the Mughal Road in the night. “Commuters are requested to cooperate and avoid travelling during night on Mughal Road as there are chances of rain and snowfall,” Senior superintendent of police Poonch Rajiv Pandey said.
