Kohli inaugurates Niabat office

Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli on Monday inaugurated the Niabat Office in Chingus, Kallar in Kalakote and laid the foundation stone for a Park near the Dak Bungalow in Kalakote.

The Minister said, “The Niabat Office building, constructed at a cost of Rs 58.20 lakh, will serve as a onepoint contact for the people to approach administration and get their concerns addressed.” Reiterating the government’s commitment in ensuring good governance and ease of access to the people, the Minister said that this office will provide people with a physical space to approach administration for their various issues.

   

He said that this fulfills a long pending demand of the people and they will now be able to get their revenue related issues addressed at their door step.

He asked the officers to deploy required manpower at this Revenue Office, so that succor is provided to the public and also asked them to deliver the services promptly, honestly and with utmost dedication. Kohli also laid the foundation stone of a Park for Kalakote, to be set up near Dak Bungalow.

The park will be developed by Municipal Committee Kalakote and will be the first of its kind in the area. Referring to the developmental works under execution in the Kalakote, Kohli said that the construction work on several micro and macro developmental projects are apace in the area and completion of these works will transform the socioeconomic conditions of the area. He said that the central government has provided liberal funding to J&K and the identification process to find uncovered areas for necessary developmental activities is underway.

“The directions have been given to the administration to conduct exhaustive survey of the area, especially far-flung hamlets and prepare Detailed Project Reports,” he added. Responding to the demands put forth by the locals, the Minister said that their genuine issues will be addressed in a phased manner. In some cases, Kohli gave on spot directions to the concerned officials for immediate redressal.
