The residents of Shahpur village were sent into tizzy after the electronic voting machines (EVMs) reportedly “malfunctioned”.
The residents while staging a protest alleged that themachines were tampered with. “While we were pressing the button for thecandidate we wanted the vote for, the vote was being casted for someone else,”they claimed.
Officials said that the malfunctioning EVMs were replaced assoon as the complaint was received and thereafter voting continued normally.
