A middle aged man was killed after being hit by splinters in a firing range of the Army at Gadhi village of Nowshera on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Rattan Singh, son of Santokh Singh of Nonial.
As per sources, the deceased received serious splinter injuries in the army firing range in Gadhi Kanara area of Nowshera. “He died on the spot,” said sources.
They said the incident took place in the evening hours when the Army soldiers were practicing with mortar shells and the deceased reached at the firing range for reasons unknown. His body was shifted to Nowshera hospital and handed over to family for last rites after legal formalities.
Meanwhile, SSP Yougal Manhas confirmed the incident and said that cognizance of the matter has been taken.
