Under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir MGNREGA Employees Association, the staff engaged under MGNREGA started their pen-down strike in Bufliyaz block of Poonch district on Monday. Similar strikes were also observed in other blocks of the district.
Tamoor Khan, Yasser Khan, Zaheer Afzal, Hafeez Khan, Aftab Ahmed, Nadeem Khan and Shoket Kohli, among other staff members assembled at Block Development Office and staged a sit-in protest, while observing the pen-down strike. They said that all their genuine demands have been pending and the “higher authorities are making them suffer.”
“We will continue our strike until our demands are met,” the protesters said.
