Students from different villages of Nowshera, including Jhanger and Bhawani, on Wednesday staged a demonstration at Main Chowk Jhanger and blocked the road for hours together.
The agitating students also raised slogans against the administration.
They said, “We have to face immense hardships in reaching school in the morning and going home in the evening due to shortage of buses. Despite the issue being taken up with authorities time and again, no action has been taken yet.”
They further said, “We are in dire need of an additional bus in the morning and in the evening, so that we can reach school and our homes on time.”
Later, SHO Nowshera Romal Singh reached the spot and pacified the protesters. He also provided a bus to them to reach home on Wednesday and assured them that their demand will be taken up before higher authorities. On this assurance, the protest was called off.
