Various trader bodies of Nowshera and locals of the area have announced a bandh call in favour of their demand for the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner at Nowshera alleging that their right has been diverted to Kotranka.
Locals of the area and trading body held a meeting in Nowshera today late evening which was chaired by Beopar Mandal President.
In this meeting, participants including traders and civil society members unanimously decided to observe complete bandh and to stage protest in favour of their demand for ADC post at Nowshera.
Later the participants also took out a protest rally and raised slogans against government.
In a press statement, traders said that their demand for Additional DC post is going on since long and successive governments assured for fulfilling the demand.
“Government has now announced ADC posts for several areas but Nowshera has been ignored which is not tolerable ” they said.
It was also alleged that ADC post meant for Nowshera has been diverted to Kotranka under a well planned political conspiracy.
“We will observe a complete bandh tomorrow and will intensify the agitation if government continues to ignore the demand” they said.
