The local police on Monday booked several villagers of Khablan village in Thannamandi for allegedly stealing water supply pipes of Public Health Engineering department, a video of which also went viral on social media.
As per the police, the incident took place two days ago when some men from Khablan village decamped with water supply pipes of PHE department.
After the incident, PHE department lodged a complaint and the police registered a case.
“We received a complaint from PHE regarding theft of pipes and a case FIR No 96/2018 U/S 379 and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act (PDPP Act) has been registered against the villagers and investigation is going on. The culprits will soon be put behind the bars,” the police said.
