A protest was staged in Mendhar town by the locals after the police detained a local boy on Monday.
Reports said that some people assembled in the main chowk of Mendhar town and blocked the road. They raised slogans and demanded the detained boy to be released at an earliest.
They said that a video against an academician went viral on social media on Sunday, after which a complaint was lodged and police detained the boy. The protesters claimed that the matter was not as serious as it is being portrayed to be.
Due to the protest, the road remained blocked for some time. Later, officers of the administration intervened pacified the protesters.
