POONCH ROAD ACCIDENT: Provide ex-gratia to kin of deceased: Advisor Kumar directs DDC

Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar on Sunday, while visiting the Poonch accident spot, directed the district development commissioner Rahul Yadav to provide ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased.

The advisor directed the DDC to provided Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia to the legal heir of deceased people in the tragic road accident that took place on December 8. “Following directions, the DDC visited the families of the deceased and expressed his sympathies. He also disbursed the ex-gratia to the families of the 13 people, who lost their lives in the accident,” an official said.

   

Meanwhile, advisor Kumar also visited Community Health Centre Mandi and took stock of health services provided to the people.

Principal secretary health AtalDulloo accompanied the advisor during the visit, where as DDC Rahul Yadav, DIG Deepak Kumar Salathia, director health services Jammu Dr Samir Mattoo, principal GMC Jammu DrSunanda Raina and other district officers were present on the occasion.

At CHC Mandi, the advisor interacted with the patients and enquired about the health facilities which are available to them. He also chaired a meeting with the doctors and medical staff and reviewed the functioning of the CHC.

During deliberations, the advisor discussed with the medical fraternity the issue of Pralkote of village Sawjian, where 16 cases of deaf and dumb were reported. He directed the health department to constitute a team of doctors to provide remedial measures, such as speech therapy and other related treatment to the deaf and dumb children. He also directed to carry out a detailed research to find the reasons behind such a problem in the area.  Meanwhile, the advisor also met various public delegations of tehsil Mandi on Sunday. The people presented their demands, related to health and roads in Arai and Sabjian. The demand of surgeons and specialists in CHC Mandi was also raised, to which the advisor informed the public that soon the shortage would be removed.
