Repolling in two panch wards of Gursai Tami panchayat of Mendhar was held on Thursday under tight security arrangements.
Voting in the two wards, Ward 5 and 6, was cancelled on Tuesday due to large scale law and order problems at the polling station. Police had fired teargas shells to disperse the stone pelting mob on the day of polling, under 7th phase of panchayat elections, on Tuesday.
On Thursday, voting for both wards was held amid tight security arrangements. The counting was also held in Jarran Wali Gali, later on.
In the elections, Haji Mohammad Rashid @Haji Pallu was defeated, by a margin of 21 votes, by Mohammad Shoket Chowdhary.
