Government forces on Tuesday launched a major search operation in several villages near the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani after reports of suspicious movement in the area came to the fore.
The operation comes on the heels of another similar operation launched three days ago in the adjacent areas. Sources said, “Forces received some information about suspected persons spotted in the area. Following this, a major search operation was launched, which was going on till last reports came in.”
The sources said that the search operation continued through the night with sleuths of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army covering two to three villages of Sunderbani area.
A senior police officer of the district confirmed that the operation was going on, but refused to share further details.
The area, where searches are being conducted, is close to villages, including Paili, where a similar search operation was conducted three days ago.
