Residents of Ward 11 of Thannamandi town staged a demonstration and blocked the main Thannamandi road for around a couple of hours on Wednesday, alleging discrimination with their area.
The agitating residents alleged, “Our area is being discriminated by the officers of the Municipal Committee and district administration. The officers, in a population survey, projected false information to provide benefits to a particular community.”
The road remained blocked for around a couple of hours after which SHO Thannamandi Nazir Ahmed Dar along with other officers reached the spot and pacified the protesters.
