Rajouri: Traders and civil society members of Teryath tehsil headquarter market on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the theft incidents in the area.
The traders and civil society members of the area assembled in main market and also kept their business establishments close for hours.
The traders of the area while raising protest and demanding increase in police vigil said that more than half a dozen thefts have taken place in Teryath market area in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
They demanded immediate identification of accused involved in the thefts and arrest of accused.
Initially Incharge Police Post Teryath tried to pacify the protest but protesters denied after which SHO Dharamsal reached on the spot and pacified the protest assuring heightened vigil and solving the cases.
On his assurance protest was called off by local traders and civil society members.
