The villagers from Nakar area of Mendhar staged a protest on Monday and blocked the Sakhi-Harni road for hours together.
The irked locals blocked the road in the morning and showcased their resentment against the Public Health Engineering department. They alleged, “Officials and officers of PHE are working with complete carelessness and no efforts are being made to solve our problems arising due to water crisis.”
Demanding restoration of Narole Water Supply Scheme, they said that PHE officials are themselves stalling smooth functioning of water supply schemes to skip duty.
Later some officers of PHE and police reached the spot and pacified the protesters.
Later, the locals called on Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar and apprised him of the issue.
