Ukraine’s Foreign Minister to arrive today in India on diplomatic mission

New Delhi, Mar 27: Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, is set to embark on a significant diplomatic mission as he arrives in New Delhi tomorrow, March 28,  for a two-day official visit. The invitation extended by the External Affairs Minister highlights the importance of fostering bilateral relations between the two nations.

During his stay, Foreign Minister Kuleba will engage in a series of pivotal discussions, including official meetings with the External Affairs Minister and Deputy NSA, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and global challenges of mutual interest.

   

Additionally, he is slated to engage with members of the business community to explore avenues for economic collaboration.

In a message on the occasion of Holi, Minister Kuleba two days ago conveyed his warm wishes to the people of India, celebrating the vibrant festival of colours. Standing before the monument of Mahatma Gandhi in Kyiv, he announced on “X” his eagerly anticipated maiden visit to India, emphasizing the significance of the occasion amidst the backdrop of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Accompanied by a distinguished delegation, Minister Kuleba is expected to co-chair a pivotal meeting of the India-Ukraine inter-governmental commission alongside his Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar. Established in April 1994, this commission plays a crucial role in overseeing various facets of bilateral cooperation encompassing trade, economics, science, technology, industry, and culture.

Against the backdrop of global tensions, India has consistently advocated for peaceful resolutions to conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated the nation’s commitment to fostering a climate of peace, emphasizing the imperative of resolving disputes through diplomatic channels. The Prime Minister has repeatedly said, “Today’s era is not an era of war”.

Last week the Prime Minister spoke on the telephone with both the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. This visit holds promise for further deepening bilateral relations and advancing shared interests and global peace.
