Anchar Lake in Srinagar, once a symbol of natural beauty with crystal clear waters, is now on the verge of extinction.

Mismanaged drainage systems, sewage flow from catchments and settlements within the lake have resulted in irreversible ecological changes. From 19.54 sq.km a century ago, the lake, as per officials, has been reduced to only around 7 sq.km.
