RMIA for strengthening curriculum in religious institutes

The Raabitah-e-Madaaris-e-Islaamiyyah Arabiyyah (RMIA) J&K, a board of religious institutes, has underlined the need for strengthening the curriculum of Deeni-Madaaris (religious seminaries) with focus on ethical standards, and maintaining transparency in the accounts of these institutes.

At its general session, it was suggested to devise a mechanism for reforming the Muslim society by ridding it of many “prevailing evils” and checking the spread of “drug abuse, obscenity and immodesty among the masses.”

The meeting resolved to take measures as would ensure that Nikaah related matters and transactions are properly recorded,” an RMIA spokesman in a statement said.

The general session was held on 4 August 2018 in the premises of Daarul-Uloom Raheemiyyah Bandipora Kashmir. Maulana Qaari Sayyid Muhammad Usmaan Sahib, a noted scholar of Hadees at Daarul-Uloom Deoband, presided over the session.

General secretary of Central RMIA, Hazrat Maulana Shaukat Ali Sahib, a senior faculty member at Daarul-Uloom Deoband, besides 350 heads of Deeni-Madaaris across the state attended the session.

The proceedings of the session were conducted by the president of RMIA Jammu and Kashmir, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Rahmatullaah Sahib Qaasmi.

The annual report was presented by the state general secretary of RMIA, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Nazeer Ahmad Qaasmi Sahib.

The session expressed grave concerns over “the reports about setting up a Madrasah-Board by some government officials of social welfare department and child protection department.”

The session made it clear that “Deeni-Madaaris are performing a gigantic task of imparting education without taking a penny as aid or grant from the government.”
