Taj Vivanta to organise Chinese food festival today

In good news for food lovers, Taj Vivanta is organizing Chinese food festival from July 13 with a view to provide authentic Chinese cuisines to foodies in Kashmir.

For this food fest, the hotel management has flown chefs from Taj Man Singh Hotel from Delhi which is known for Chinese dishes.

   

Executive chef, Taj Vivanta, Sumant Dadhwal said that there is craze among Kashmiris for Chinese food. ” In order to provide authentic Chinese food, specialized chefs from Delhi’s House of Ming which since 1978 is serving sichwan and Cantonese cuisines, will be in Srinagar.”

Sumant who hails from Himachal Pradesh says that food festival will be held for 10 days during which besides serving Chinese cuisines. It will also provide for local trainee chefs in Taj Vivanta to learn the art of making specialized dishes.

He said during the festival dishes such as prawn and water chest nut black beans chilli, steamed chicken, haricot beans, springing onion, Sichuan pepper, asparagus and trio peppers, barbequed mushroom bao, broccoli, corn and pinenuts pouches, streamed tiger prawns with gold garlic, golen fried prawns with chilli dip, fried prawns with pepper salt, lamb cumin etc will be served during the 10 day festival.

“This kind of events create opportunity for locals. What is more encouraging is that now girls are also joining as trainee chefs. So far in my tenure of one year I have trained total 9 girls which is a good sign and shows the social maturity.”

He said that hospitality sector of Kashmir has a huge potential.
