KCCI calls on Vyas, demands restoration of ‘skewed bridge’ in motorable one

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), in a meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir Governor’s advisor BB Vyas, has demanded restoration of ‘skewed bridge’ near Presentation Convent School from a footbridge to motorable bridge, as per the original plan.

According to a statement issued by the KCCI, the demand was put forth by a delegation of the KCCI led by the president Javid Ahmad Tenga with the advisor.

The KCCI delegation said the restoration of the ‘skewed’ foot bridge to a motorable one was a critical requirement to ease the traffic congestion leading to the central business district.

According to the statement, BB Vyas said that the re-conversion of the bridge would be actively considered by the government and all possible measures would be taken to bring relief to the general public.

The delegation also raised objections to the proposals of the draft master plan in Srinagar which reserved 15 percent of areas in the business districts for what was termed as “informal businesses’.
