Government extends timeline for filing APRs

Jammu, Apr 17: The government has extended the timeline for submission of Annual Property Returns (APRs) on the PRS portal by its defaulting employees, for a week.

This is the third extension of the timeline for filing APRs.

   

Earlier, vide Circular No 36-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated December 21, 2023, followed by Notifications dated December 29, 2023, and dated March 3, 2024, all employees working under the government of Jammu and Kashmir were advised to file their property returns for the year 2023, with effect from January 1 to 31, 2024 on the PRS portal, accessible on https://prs.jk.gov.in.

The timelines were extended vide notification dated February 12, 2024, and March 3, 2024.

“It has been observed that given the financial closing and other preoccupations, many employees have not been able to submit their property returns within the extended timeline and have thus defaulted. Since failure or non-submission of property returns by government employees invites action under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets Act and rules made there under, the matter was re-considered in the General Administration Department,” a GAD notification stated.

It added that following reconsideration, it was decided that a last and final opportunity would be granted to these defaulting employees.

“Accordingly, submission of property returns by the defaulting employees shall be allowed through online mode on the Property Return System (PRS) portal for 7 days from the date of issuance of this notification,” the government has directed.
