2 most-wanted drug dealers from Delhi, Ghaziabad arrested: ANTF

Jammu, Nov 22: Two drug peddlers were arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) J&K that conducted raids in various parts of Delhi and Ghaziabad.

“Both the arrested persons were wanted in various cases of ANTF and were the main distributors and suppliers of banned pharmaceutical drugs to Jammu and Kashmir,” SP ANTF J&K, Vinay Sharma said.

   

He said that they were operating from Delhi and its adjoining areas including Ghaziabad. He said that two teams of ANTF were constituted that conducted a series of raids in Delhi and Ghaziabad areas and with the help of Delhi and Ghaziabad Police arrested two most-wanted drug dealers.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ajay Gupta alias Bunty of Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, and Shirshak Sharma alias Honey of Naveen Shahdara, Delhi.

They were arrested in a case under FIR No 45 of 2020 under section 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act of Police Station ANTF Jammu.

Quoting preliminary investigation, Sharma said, “They used to stock and store banned pharmaceutical drugs in godowns and later supply these drugs to various places including J&K.”

He said that pharmaceutical drugs like codeine phosphate, spasmo proxyvon, and tremadol were fast replacing traditional drugs like heroin and cocaine and their abuse had seen a rising trend amongst the youth.
