MoS Home to lay foundation of Venkateshwara Swamy Temple on Sunday

Jammu, June 11: Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy would lay the foundation stone of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Majeen in Jammu on Narwal-Sidra byepass on Sunday.

Sources said that MoS Home G Kishan Reddy would arrive in Jammu on a one-day’s visit to lay the foundation stone, and later return to Delhi on the same day.

   

Reddy is also scheduled to visit BJP’s Jammu headquarters at Trikuta Nagar where he would meet local leadership soon after his arrival from Delhi, they said.

The Administrative Council headed by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha had approved the proposal to allot 496 kanal and 17 marla of land at Majeen village situated on the byepass which connects the Srinagar-Jammu highway to the TTD for building a temple complex and its allied infrastructure like pilgrim amenities complex, residential quarters, parking and Veda Patasala.

The land has been given on a lease for a period of 40 years at the minimum price of Rs 10 per kanal per annum.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu President Arun Gupta told Greater Kashmir: “Shri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple will attract pilgrims and tourists from across the country and abroad to Jammu and if it is pursued, it will definitely help boost Jammu’s economic growth.”
