‘Will expose failures of BJP, PDP in J&K’

Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has decided to “expose the failures” of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the elections ahead.

The State Congress will also capitalise on Rahul Gandhi’s ‘hugplomacy’ moment in the parliament by sending a message of love. The state party leadership met here under the chairmanship of its State president Ghulam Ahmad Mir and devised a strategy for all upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The party leaders in totality agreed upon sending message of love, compassion, peace and communal harmony over polarization and division politics of BJP, by using Rahul Gandhi’s ‘hug’ moment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in parliament recently during no-confidence motion, despite all the hate and negativity for Congress President spreading through BJPs IT cells,” a senior Congress leader told Greater Kashmir. “Party felt that Congress has bright chances to emerge as a largest alternative in the state in view of total disenchantment of the people with other parties especially BJP in Jammu region and PDP in the valley. Discussion were also held to strengthen the party at grassroots level in all the three regions.”

“The party leaders also directed to stand in unanimity against the communal, divisive and opportunist forces in the state,” he said. “The party leaders asked us to expose the failure of BJP-PDP government and cash in the anti-government sentiment of people”.

Interacting with the participants, Mir briefed the meeting about the discussions in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) held on Sunday at New Delhi. He also apprised about important decisions and course of action decided for the future Lok Sabha general and assembly elections. He told the leaders to gear up the cadres for the forthcoming electoral exercises in the state including ULBs and Panchayats besides making preparations for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections. The participants also put forth their views in the meeting on strengthening the party ahead of elections.
