Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani offered his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
“We strongly condemn the discrimination against the Chenab region in respect of its development. The area, which might not have any military significance, has been neglected making the highway running through this mountainous region open graves for passengers of this area. Statistics regarding the accidents swallowing passengers on these dilapidated roads and highways present a dismal picture as compared to other militarily important roads running through mountains,” Geelani said in a statement.
Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq wrote on Twitter: “Deeply grieved at the loss of life in the tragic road accident at Poonch. My condolences to the affected families. Pray to almighty for speedy recovery of the injured.”
