BSF kill militant’s guide on IB in Kathua

Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday claimed that it had killed a Pakistani intruder, believed to be a guide of militants, along the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. “Around 6.35 in the morning, BSF troops deployed on the IB in Hiranagar sector observed suspicious movement of one person who by taking advantage of undulating ground, foliage and hazy weather conditions, crossed the International Boundary and tried to came close to border fence to intruded into Indian territory,” said  ManjoYadav, Jammu based BSF spokesperson.

He added alert BSF troops challenged individual to stop but instead of listening to warning he tried to move quickly towards fence.

   

“Instead of paying any heed to the warning, the individual tried to take cover in the nearby undulating ground. BSF sentry shot the individual foiling any chance of possible infiltration or escape of the individual back to Pakistani territory,” he added.

Body of the individual was recovered later. The man was around 24 years of age. However, identity of the man was not known but upon search of his person Rs 90 in Pakistan currency and two election pamphlets written Anwar HaqChoudhary were recovered.

He said, “It is assumed that the intruder was guide of the militants who were waiting for his clearance signal.”
