Director general of the Border Security Force Rajni Kant Mishra Tuesday said that the situation along borders was under control and border guards were giving a befitting reply to the ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
“The International Border is calm while forces are alertalong the Line of Control,” Mishra said on the sidelines of wreath-layingceremony of BSF inspector T Alex who was killed in Pakistani firing on Mondayin Poonch.
“We are strongly retaliating to the ceasefire violationsfrom across the border and responding effectively to the firing,” the DG BSFsaid.
The DG also termed targeting of civilians allegedly byPakistani forces as unfortunate.
“We will also be taking a review of weaponry (artillery)used by Pakistan, but we are replying in a similar manner.”
He also said the forces are geared up for upcoming parliamentaryelections.
