Arms recovered from Srinagar-bound vehicle

Anantnag, June 5: Security forces on Saturday recovered arms and ammunition from a Srinagar-bound vehicle in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and arrested two persons. The vehicle was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, a police official said.

The police official said that police and army arrested two persons during random checking in Lower Munda area of Qazigund from a vehicle.

   

“Arms and ammunition were recovered from their vehicle,” he said.

The police official said it included two AK56 rifles, 8AK magazines, 10 9mm pistols, 18 pistol magazines, 90 19mm ammunition and 9 grenades.

The police official identified those arrested as Mehraj Ahmad Bhat and Zahid Nabi Dar, both from Sambora area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
