HC orders 22-day winter vacation

Srinagar: High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Saturday announced the winter vacation for 22 days for both its wings, Srinagar and Jammu, from January 3.

“It is hereby notified that the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will observe Winter Vacations with effect from 3rd of January, 2022 to 25th of January, 2022 (both days inclusive),” reads an order issued by Registrar General, Jawad Ahmad.

   

The period commencing from 3rd to 8th of January, 2022, the order says, shall be no work period for the High Court.

According to the order, the Chief Justice has nominated Judges for both wings of the High Court to hear all matters of urgent nature for the vacation period.

For Jammu wing, Justice Puneet Gupta shall hear the urgent matters from January 10 to 17 and Justice Javed Iqbal Wani from January 18 to 25 respectively while for the Srinagar wing Justice Mohan Lal and Justice Muhammad Akram Chowdhary have been nominated to hear the urgent matters from January 10 to 17 and January 18 to 25 respectively.
