No traffic plies on highway

Ramban, June 23: The traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained suspended today owing to weekly repairs being conducted on the road every Wednesday.

A traffic official informed that hundreds of vehicles carrying essential commodities for Kashmir were stopped at Jakhani Naka Dhar Road, Udhampur.

   

He said that agencies concerned pressed men and machinery into service to carry out repairs at various places along the highway.

He said that local transport plied as usual between Ramban – Banihal and Ramban – Batote stretch of highway.

He said that the traffic on the highway will resume on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, an advisory issued by the traffic police headquarters Srinagar/ Jammu said that subject to fair weather the LMVs will be allowed to ply from both sides of the highway on Thursday, whereas HMVs stranded between Banihal and Ramban will be allowed towards Jammu.
