KAS selection row: Qualified candidates stage protest in Jammu

The candidates who qualified Kashmir Administrative Services mains 2016 examinations Monday staged a demonstration here to combat what they called “false propaganda” being set against them by a few non-qualified candidates.

While talking to media persons here, the qualified candidates said, “There has been constant delay in the examination process because of a few non-qualified candidates. We have suffered long, since 2016, as they (non-qualified) have continued to create hurdles.”

Alleging false narrative is being carried out against them, the qualified candidates said, “The notifications of onscreen marking that were released by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, on December 7, 2017, was a revolutionary step. It was the need of the hour and we were jubilant that the government was doing things to better the existing scenario.”

They said, “Due to a few non-qualified candidates, our careers have been at stake. We toiled and worked hard to qualify the exams, but we are bearing the brunt. The process which needs to be completed within some months has already been stretched to three years and counting.”

Pertinently, the KAS mains 2016 were conducted from July 2018 to August 2018 and the result was declared in December 2018.
