2 ‘drug peddlers’ arrested in Budgam, Awantipora

Srinagar: Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested by police from Budgam and Awantipora.

A police spokesman said contraband substances were also recovered from their possession. Giving details, he said police party of Police Station Char-i-Sharief at a checkpoint at Kakawring Crossing intercepted a vehicle (Maruti-800), JKO4A-7629, with one person onboard. He was identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat resident of Nowhar Charar-e-sharief. During checking, officers recovered 10 grams of Heroin and 400 Spasmoproxyvon capsules from the vehicle. He was arrested and shifted to Police Station. The vehicle was also seized.

   

Police Station Awantipora received a specific information that a person Subzar Ahmad Dar resident of Kandizal Awantipora has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house, the spokesman said.

“On receipt of this information, a police party headed by SHO PS Awantipora alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the specific location. During search, officers recovered 35 kgs of grinded Cannabis powder from the residential house. He was arrested,” the spokesman said.
