Light rains, snow in Kashmir higher reaches likely today: MeT

Srinagar: The Meteorological Department has predicted light rains, snowfall in higher reaches of Kashmir on Friday, while there will be a significant improvement in prevailing weather conditions from Saturday onward, MeT forecast said.

MeT officials said light to moderate rains, snowfall in upper reaches was expected while weather will remain cloudy in plains on Friday.

   

As per MeT data, Srinagar recorded a low of 1.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night against 2 degrees Celsius recorded on Tuesday night. Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 0.6 degrees Celsius against Tuesday night’s 1.6 degrees Celsius, the official said.
