Srinagar, May 31: Youth National Conference (NC) leader Ahsan Pardesi Monday expressed concern over the plight of unemployed youth and sought monthly allowance to them through direct cash scheme.
In a statement issued here, Pardesi said that the government should take measures to help educated unemployed youth in J&K to evade anxiety and meet their daily expenses as well.
Stressing on the dire need of announcing an unemployment allowance for the educated unemployed youth, Pardesi said even after the long gap of 21 months of announcing a job extravaganza in Jammu and Kashmir, “the touted dream is yet to see the light of the day”.
He said the subsequent clampdowns and Covid-19 lockdown had already curtailed the job opportunities in tourism and transport sectors.
