Artists, achievers from different fields awarded
Strategy and Tactics Executives on Friday organized a function here to encourage the artists of the Kashmir Valley and felicitated some of them. The function titled “Recognition to unsung artisans” was held here at LD Memories Culture Center in Ganpatyar area of Habba Kadal. Many artists affiliated with different works were felicitated by the Strategy and Tactics Executives.
The artists felicitated include Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Arshid Soliha, Shabir Mirza, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Mohammad Yousuf, Raja Bilal, Mushtaque Barq, Er. Qazi Faizan.
The artists also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role of artists in the Valley, saying that the artists in Kashmir have been ignored.
While speaking on the occasion, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, prominent writer and poet, highlighted the role of artists. He said that there was a need to review the culture of Kashmir.
“Kashmir was known for its culture outside the state but said that the artists in Kashmir have been ignored,” he said, adding that there is a need to review the culture again. Other artists present on the occasion echoed the similar views.

Multilingual Mushaira, organized at Ramban
The mountainous district of Ramban witnessed a Multilingual Mushaira’ at Government Higher Secondary School, Gool in which number of prominent poets participated.
At the multilingual Mushiara, Tehsildar, Gool, Mohammad Ashraf was the chief guest whereas renowned writer and poet principal of Host School, Nana ji Tiku was the guest of honour at the Musharia.
Renowned poet, Mohammad Shafi Jral hoped that such cultural cum educative programmes would go a long way in making the youth understand the culture and tradition of the state.
Around 42 poets including locals poets, teachers and students from different parts of Ramban district recited their poetry in Urdu, Dogri, Hindi and Kashmiri which mesmerized the audience.
State level Hussaini Mushaira organised in Budgam
Jammu & Kashmir Saqafatee Markaz Budgam in Collaboration with Haqani Memorial Trust J&K organized a STATE LEVEL HUSSAINI MUSHAIRA at Kaiwa Hall Rahber guest House New Bus Stand Budgam last week. Near about 80 Poets from different districts of State took part in the Mushaira.
The Hussaini Mushaira Was Started with Tilawate Kalame Pak by (Gh Mohi ud Din Mir). Dr B A Gamgeen Secretary JKSMB welcomed the guests. The Chief guest of the function was Hon’ble M.L.A Budgam Aga Syed Ruhullah, Gest of Honor was Dr Gh Hassan Yatoo and Presided over by Ab Gani Naseem also Mubarak Ahmad Mubarak, Manshoor Banhali, Javaid Budgami, Ayoub Sabir, Syed Rashid Jawhar, Maqbool Feroozie, Bashir Chirag Were in the Presidium.
In the first Session research paper on Kashmiri Poetic Collection SOKHE NAAGEK KENH QATRE by famous Poet Gh Nabi Shaheen read by Tahir Sultan.The said collection was released by Chief guest Aga Syed Ruhullah. On the eve JKSMB presented awards to people in the field of Literature, Administration & Electronic Media. The 2nd most graceful Session Hussaini Mushaira was Presided over by Syed Rashid Jawhar and Chief guests were Ayoub Sabir, Manshoor Banhali, Bashir Chirag and Bashir Ahmad Dar. The poets who took Part in the Mushaira included Hakeem Mohammed Aslam, zeshan Hydery, Mohiud Ud Din Hamid, Nazir Josh, Majeed Masroor, Javaid Budgami, Haji Gh Rasool Hur, Faqeer Gh Mohammed and others.
Anam Zakaria book on Pakistan-Administered Kashmir released
Pakistani writer Anam Zakaria has come up a first of its kind book on Kashmir titled “Between The Great Divide: A journey into Pakistan-administered Kashmir”.
The book is being described by Indians and Pakistanis as not only a first but also a deeply empathic account of disrupted lives in the region.
The author travelled through Pakistan-administered Kashmir to hear its people – their sufferings, hopes and aspirations, breaking the silence surrounding a people who according to her, are often ignored in discussions on the present and future of Jammu and Kashmir even though they are important stakeholders in what happens in the region.
Zakaria is a development professional, educationist and researcher based in Pakistan. The author travelled through parts of PaK and conversed with its people and learnt how the larger conflict had impacted them – refugee camps, heavy mortar shelling, a constant state of vulnerability living by the volatile Line of Control (LoC), the threat of escalation of conflict, and so much more. Zakaria realised how important it was to explore the conflict from PaK’s lens for a broader understanding of the Kashmir dispute and its implications.
Regarding people’s aspirations, Zakaria told Asia News, “In PaK, many Kashmiris still staunchly support the azadi cause – this ‘azadi’ is understood as independence from India. There is also some nationalist sentiment on this side, advocating for a united independent state of Jammu & Kashmir. However, I did come across people – particularly families living by the LoC and bearing the brunt of cross firing – who say they are sick and tired of the fight for azadi and just want peace. While they ideologically may still support the cause, in practical terms they realise that the fight seems unending and they are desperate for some sense of normalcy to return to their homes and lives. We are speaking of countless children who have grown up in bunkers, of countless lives lost to mortar shelling, of irreparable psychological damage – their call for peace echoes loudly in the border villages I traveled through. “

The closed facades use three-layered window featuring the visual of Dal Lake, wooden jaali and arched vinyle on glass, while the open facades showcases single layer of window of the same meaning.”
