A three storey structure was fully damaged in a mysterious ablaze on Tuesday-Wednesday intervening night at Daraj Panchayat Halqa of Kotranka tehsil in Rajouri district.
As per locals, the incident took place at about 2:30 AM when the flames erupted out of a house and soon engulfed the entire structure.
They said that so far no administrative help has been given to the affected family.
A local leader, Kabir Ahmed said, “Several telephones were made to the senior officers to inform about the incident but no official except Halqa Patwari reached on the spot to assess the loss.”
No official is bothering to hear the grievance of the affected family and to help them in this state of tragedy, he said.
Nadeem Mir, a local leader from Kotranka said the entire three storey house got damaged in this incident and everything got reduced to ashes.
“It’s very unfortunate that administration has not extended any kind of help to the affected family,” Mir added.
There is no fire and emergency service station in Kotranka, locals complained.
When contacted, additional deputy commissioner Koteranka, Ved Parkash, said the information of this incident was received while he was in a meeting.
“I directed Tehsildar to send some officials. The Tehsildar will be sent to the spot in the morning for assessment of loss,” he said.
When asked about any relief provided to the victim family, officer said, “We will look into it in the morning (Thursday).”
