GK IMPACT: After two years, transformer installed in LoC village

Taking prompt action after a news carried by Greater Kashmir mentioned how confrontation among some political workers has led to delay in installation of a power transformer which was sanctioned two years ago, authorities finally installed the transformer on Sunday, thereby electrifying the hamlet.

The hamlet, Mothaan Wali Bandhi in Dareri village of Manjakote, is located in the area close to the Line of Control and was un-electrified.

Two years ago, a 63 KV transformer was sanctioned in the area, but the same wasn’t installed due to confrontation among some local political activists. As per reports, a leader of the area had sabotaged the work of the Power Development Department and was not allowing the installation of the transformer.

After Greater Kashmir carried the news on June 8 edition, the matter was brought into the notice of the local district administration.

Meanwhile, acting promptly on this issue, a team of officers led by Tehsildar Manjakote was deputed and after a process of two days, the said transformer was finally been installed in the hamlet, thereby electrifying it.
