After a lull of some days in Balakote area near Line of Control in Mendhar, guns roared again on Wednesday creating panic in the area.
As per official reports, cross border firing started at about 7 PM in Balakote with initial unprovoked firing by Pakistani side. “Besides use of small arms, Pakistan also restored to mortar shelling and shells landed in some villages including Basooni ” said officials.
Indian troops also retaliated effectively to the firing and firing was going on when this report was filed.
