India, Pakistan armies exchange fire on LoC

The exchange of gunfire and shelling on Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera’s Kalsiyan village here continued for second consecutive day on Monday after an army officer lost his life in firing from across the border on Sunday.

An official said firing and shelling started in Kalsiyan this evening. He said many forward posts of army on this side were effectively responding to firing from across the LoC.

   

“Pakistan army violated ceasefire and started small arms firing as well as mortar shelling which was going on when last reports were received.” said the official.

He said civilian areas were also affected in the shelling. But there was no immediate report of any loss.
